About The Artist

I have been an artist all of my life. I love Oil Painting, creating all types of babies from Reborn's, Cloth dolls, and Polymer Clay Sculpted Babies. I am the mother of 4 grown children and have been a Neonatal RN since 1986. I came from a large family with 4 brothers and 1 sister. Our house was always full and this is where my love of babies began. I loved helping my mother with each baby that came along, and dreamed of the day I would have my very own. This love has never left me, and it only seems appropriate that I would end up creating life-like babies as part of my life's work.

I began making cloth dolls when I was about 5 years old and first learned to sew with the encouragement by my best friends Grandma. I first started sculpting little dolls from mud and child's clay for my sister and me. I now sculpt Newborn Babies from polymer clays. I still have a passion and love for creating all types of babies, and I always knew it was something I was destined to do.

Striving Always For Newborn Realism

It is my goal in sculpting, as it has been in my Reborning work, to create the most realistic babies possible. As the clay begins to take shape, each little newborn takes on its own unique little personality and life. I want to capture those first few hours following birth, as it is such a fleeting moment in time, and they change so much in the first days of life. It's that puffy, little, newborn innocence that I seeks.

My experience as a Neonatal Nurse has helped me so much in this work, and allowed me the experience of seeing and touching 1000's of newborns and preemies. I know the feel and look that a newborn baby has by heart, and I try my best to transfer this feeling into all of the babies I create.
